Healthgrades Names Kaweah Health a Top US Hospital for Spinal Surgery

VISALIA, Calif. – Kaweah Health Medical Center has been named one of America’s 100 Best Spine Surgery™ hospitals by Healthgrades. More than 4,500 hospitals were evaluated nationwide, and Kaweah Health was one of 21 California hospitals chosen.

Each year, Kaweah Health performs more than 2,000 orthopedic surgeries, about 500 of which are spine procedures. With advances in technology and dedicated partners from Center Neurorestoration Associates and spinal surgeons, Dr. Mathias Daniels and Dr. Frank Feng, Kaweah Health makes it possible for patients to stay close to home and receive award-winning spine care in Visalia.

Recently, Dr. Daniels began using Globus Medical’s ExcelsiusGPS system to help him navigate around a patient’s spine and place screws using a small surgical site. This equipment reduces the time of a spinal surgery, and also limits radiation exposure for the patient and the medical team. Smaller surgical sites also allow the patient to have an easier recovery.
