Kaweah Health Hires Five New Physicians

VISALIA, Calif. – Kaweah Health is pleased to announce that five new physicians have started working at the organization in the last few weeks. These new additions continue our vision of providing world-class healthcare in Tulare County.

“We have worked hard to recruit physicians to Visalia and the Central Valley, focusing on bringing in caregivers who will enhance our services and the quality of care our patients receive,” Kaweah Health CEO Gary Herbst said.

Tulare County is one of the most clinically-underserved counties in the state, based on the number of physicians and the size of the population.

“Kaweah Health uses multiple strategies to recruit physicians,” Herbst said. “In some cases we recruit physicians to work in the hospital or in one of our clinics, while in other cases we help recruit a physician to join an existing medical group in our community. It is about finding the right situation for each physician and ensuring that the patients have the best possible access to care.”

The five newly recruited physicians are:

  • Dr. Harleen Chahil, an interventional cardiologist who has a passion for women’s heart health. Dr. Chahil started at Kaweah Health Cardiology Center in September. Her husband is Dr. Amitoj Gill, who recently joined the Sequoia Regional Cancer Center, and her sister recently graduated from Kaweah Health’s family medicine residency program and has opened her practice in Visalia.
  • Dr. Ryan Dean, an orthopedic trauma surgeon who works with his patients through recovery and rehabilitation. Dr. Dean started at Kaweah Health in September and has already made an impact by treating trauma patients at Kaweah Health Medical Center that may otherwise have been transferred out to another facility.
  • Dr. Amitoj Gill, a medical oncologist and hematologist who focuses on compassion, personalized treatment, and collaboration. Dr. Gill started at Sequoia Regional Cancer Center in September. His wife is Dr. Harleen Chahil, who recently joined the Kaweah Health Cardiology Center.
  • Dr. Holly Quinn, an OB-GYN who is excited to continue working with the hospital’s Family Birthing Center and to start seeing patients in Kaweah Health clinics. Dr. Quinn will begin with Kaweah Health on Oct. 1.
  • Dr. Danny Vazquez, a radiation oncologist who focuses on multidisciplinary care for cancer patients, frequently communicating with other specialists to deliver a comprehensive and coordinated plan of care. Dr. Vazquez started at Sequoia Regional Cancer Center in September.

More information on each of these new physicians, including how to schedule an appointment, can be found on our website, KaweahHealth.org. Kaweah Health continues to work toward adding more doctors to serve our ever-growing community, while making sure they are a good fit for our patients and the Central Valley.
