Many Ways to Serve the Community
As a community volunteer, you will provide a vital link between Kaweah Health and the people we serve, using your life skills while helping people around you. Our community volunteers assist many teams at Kaweah Health. Volunteers must be a high school student or above and willing to commit to volunteering on a consistent basis.

Pet Partners®

Kaweah Health offers certified therapy animal owners the opportunity to visit patients. Therapy animals are specially trained and undergo a certification process in order to volunteer in a hospital setting. Therapy animals provide comfort to patients and our teams.
To be part of the Kaweah Pet Therapy team, the handler and dog must complete the AKC Canine Good Citizen certification and provide documentation of appropriate vaccinations and training. The pet will also need to be a certified therapy animal, not a service animal. This is because not all service animals have the temperament to be a therapy animal.

- Complete orientation
- Commit to serving consistently
