What is C.U.B.S?
Children Undergoing Bereavement Support
Children are often forgotten in the cycle of grief. Their grief is often overlooked because the adults around them do not know what to say or do to help them as they process grief. Children who are grieving often become quiet, withdrawn and may even act out. They do not want to make the adults in their life cry or feel bad.
The C.U.B.S. curriculum offers a healing bridge for communication between
children (geared for ages 7-12), parents, grandparents and guardians with
the unpredictable journey of grief.
Children work in small groups with other children similar in age and grief circumstances. C.U.B.S. meets weekly for four consecutive weeks under the guidance of a qualified facilitator. Concurrent parent/caregiver support groups are also an integral part of C.U.B.S.
